Vol. 486 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

156 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a final decision has been made on the appeal of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny on the decision by his Department to disqualify him from the 1997 suckler cow premium scheme. [3022/98]

The person named was given the opportunity to lodge an appeal with the appeals unit of my Department if he was dissatisfied with the outcome of the review communicated to him on 24 October 1997. No further appeal has been lodged. If such an appeal is lodged, it will be considered by the appeals unit.

Ceist:

157 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will reopen the application for an installation aid grant by a person (details supplied) in County Carlow which was with his Department for a number of years but never finalised; and if he will indicate the documents that are required by his Department to finalise the application. [3023/98]

As the applicant in this case was over 35 years of age when he was set up in farming in his own right, he is ineligible for installation aid. Teagasc informed him accordingly in July 1992.
