41 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when he will invite participants on to his recently announced sheep forum; the date from which the forum will operate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5161/98]
The first meeting of the sheepmeat forum took place yesterday, Wednesday 25 February. Membership of the forum includes representatives of producer organisations, processors, Teagasc, Bord Bia and my Department. The forum has been charged with the task of evaluating the future prospects of the sheepmeat sector and assessing how best the industry can collectively address the challenges it faces in the coming years.
