52 Mr. Sargent asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the proposed date for the publication by her Department of its strategy statement as required under the terms of the strategic management initiative; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5320/98]

Under the Public Service Management Act, 1997 my Department is required to submit to me by 1 March 1998 a strategy statement covering the three year period 1998 to 2000. A deadline of 1 May 1998 has been set for the submission of the statement to the Houses of the Oireachtas.
