Ceist:127 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will rescind a decision in relation to a suckler cow quota for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo. [6229/98]
Written Answers - Suckler Cow Quota.
The person named has applied for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the 1998 national reserve.
He applied under the category confined to farmers who have applied regularly for the suckler cow premium scheme, who will apply in 1998 and who require additional quota to ensure the viability of their holding. He also indicated on the application form that he will be applying for the suckler cow premium scheme for the first time in 1998, and, therefore, he does not qualify under that category.
He was recently offered consideration under the category confined to first time applicants who are under 35 years of age.
My Department wrote to the person concerned seeking evidence of age. he has not yet replied to the inquiry and his application cannot, therefore, be processed further.
