Vol. 488 No. 4

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Ceist:

139 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will have the area aid application problems of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo resolved to enable the suckler cow payment to be processed; when payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6336/98]

Advance payment of £1,099.65 issued to the person concerned on 5 December 1997 in respect of 1997 suckler cow premium. However, before the balance of the premia payments can issue the forage area declared by the person concerned must be validated by the land parcel identification system-LPIS.

For this validation to take place, I have arranged for townland maps to issue to him from my Department. If these maps are returned with the boundaries of his holding outlined on them and if the area can be cleared on the land parcel identification system, the remaining payments will then issue.

Ceist:

140 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo on his income supplement from 14 January to 14 February 1998, in view of the fact that his herd has been restricted since 2 October 1997, which is longer than the four month restriction period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6337/98]

The herdowner in question was paid income supplement for three months from 13 October 1997, i.e. the date on which more than 10 per cent of the animals in his herd were removed as reactors, to 12 January 1998. Income supplement is not paid in respect of a period of less than one month's duration. The herdowner's eligibility for income supplement ceased with the derestriction of his holding on 4 February 1998.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

141 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive his 1997 headage and premia payments in view of the fact that he has submitted proof of postage of his area aid application. [6338/98]

An area aid application in respect of 1997 was not received in my Department from the person named. The person concerned has been requested on two occasions to submit proof of postage. This proof of postage has not yet been received. Until such documentary evidence of postage has been submitted, the issue of payments cannot be considered.
