146 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will approve an application for a suckler quota for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6394/98]
The person named has applied for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the 1998 national reserve. I have accepted the recommendations of the Quota Review Group which gave priority for the allocation of quota from this reserve to eligible applicants with low livestock units. It is estimated that all the available quota will be utilised by eligible applicants with less than ten livestock units. As the person named already has 13.2 livestock units, he will not receive an allocation of quota from this reserve.
