Ceist:284 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a dealing in the Land Registry office will be completed for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [6445/98]
Written Answers - Registration of Title.
I am informed by the registrar of titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which was lodged on 8 April 1997. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of the applicant's claim for registration as owner, take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion time at this stage.
However, I confirm that the land registry will do everything possible to expedite the resolution of this application.
