Ceist:

308 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will have finance made available for the provision for a bus parking bay outside a national school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the fact there is no turning circle immediately outside the school. [6154/98]

The manager of the school referred to by the Deputy has applied to my Department for grant assistance towards the cost of providing a bus pull-in.

My Department's building unit has sought a report in the matter from the local Office of Public Works. As soon as this report is received, a decision will be taken on the provision of grant assistance for the proposed scheme in the light of existing contractual commitments and available capital funding. The school will be notified of the decision.
