309 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science the arrangements, if any, in place in his Department and in any State agency or body under his control to encourage or enforce the reuse or recycling of paper and, in particular, of envelopes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Green Government Guide published in August 1996 by the Department of the Environment and Local Government aims, inter alia, to promote the increased use of recycled paper in Government offices and in the wider public service. My Department is participating in that initiative.
It has long been the practice in my Department to reuse envelopes for repeated internal circulation purposes.
