71 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Defence when the remainder of the roads owned by his Department at Ardagh, Bere Island, County Cork will be brought up to standard and blacktopped; and if finance is available in his Department's current Estimate for the completion of this project. [6467/98]
The position is that the Department of Defence has proposed that Cork County Council take charge of all roads owned by the Department on Bere Island, County Cork, and the matter is the subject of ongoing discussions between the parties. In 1997, almost £100,000 was expended on upgrading the roads owned by my Department on Bere Island.
