Ceist:261 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if financial assistance will be given to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who has applied for compensation for fodder damage last winter. [8692/98]

No payments have been made yet under the scheme of assistance for weather related crop losses in 1997. All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their applications under this scheme when the necessary clearance is received from the EU Commission which is expected shortly.
