88 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of pupils required for the retention of a primary school teacher; and when schools will be notified regarding the number of teachers eligible in relation to each school from September 1998. [10233/98]

I have arranged that my officials will forward directly to the Deputy the schedule of enrolments required to retain all teaching posts in primary schools.

The 1998-99 staffing allocations for primary schools will be announced very soon.
