Vol. 491 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

400 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when registration of a title (details supplied) in County Limerick will be made. [11663/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is no record of any application currently pending on this folio, which is registered to an owner different from the name of the applicant supplied by the Deputy. If the Deputy can check the details and let me have any other details such as the date of lodgment, I will have further inquiries made in the matter.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

401 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will have arrangements made to issue a dealing number in relation to an application (details supplied) lodged with the Land Registry over 12 months ago. [11752/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 16 March 1998. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of the applicant's claim for registration as owner, take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.

However, I can inform the Deputy that the Land Registry will do everything possible to expedite this dealing.
