Vol. 491 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dollymount (Dublin) Bridge.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

44 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the condition of the timber bridge to the North Bull, Dollymount, Dublin 3; when the bridge was constructed; if there is a need for major evaluation of necessary repair work or replacement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12470/98]

The North Bull Bridge, Dollymount, is located within the jurisdictional area of Dublin Port Company.

I am advised by the company that the bridge was constructed during the First World War and is suitable for pedestrian and car traffic, but not heavy traffic.

While Dublin Port Company confirms that the bridge will need to be replaced some time in the future there are no plans to do so at present.
