Vol. 491 No. 4
53 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the consideration, if any, being given to the reopening of the Cork to Youghal railway line; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12464/98]
All railway operational matters, including those related to the reopening of railway lines, are the responsibility of Iarnród Éireann. I have no statutory responsibility for such matters.
However, as I indicated in reply to a similar Parliamentary Question on 31 March 1998, I have asked CIE to prepare an assessment of the public transport situation in Cork for my consideration.
