Ceist:

69 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children if former employees of health boards who had to resign from employment as a result of the bar on married women and who applied for reinstatement between the years 1991 and 1993 are eligible for or are under consideration for public service employment. The employment of staff including those referred to by the Deputy, in health boards is a matter for the boards. I have asked the chief executive officers of the boards to investigate the position with regard to those women who applied for reinstatement between the years 1991 and 1993 and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
