112 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the proposals, if any, for legislation being prepared under the auspices of his Department that have not yet been published; and the statutory instruments, if any, being prepared in his Department. [13977/98]
There are no proposals by my Department for the preparation of legislation which has not yet been published. There are no statutory instruments currently being prepared in my Department. However, once the European Communities (Amendment) Bill, 1998, which was published earlier this month to give effect to the Treaty of Amsterdam, has been enacted and the treaty has been ratified by all the EU member states, I hope to be able to make the required commencement order later this year.
113 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the Acts and provisions of Acts under the auspices of his Department which, as of 1 June 1998, are not in force because a commencement order has not been made; whether it is proposed to make an order in each case; and, if so, when this will be made. [13992/98]
There are no Acts or provisions of Acts which, as of 1 June 1998, are not in force due to the fact that a commencement order has not been made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
