124 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he has received an application for lottery funding for a project (details supplied) in County Cork; the position regarding the application; and when a decision will be made in this regard. [14754/98]
The group mentioned by the Deputy in his question submitted an application for funding under the 1998 scheme of grants to voluntary organisations.
At the beginning of June 1998 a total of 2,507 applications had been received under this and the other once off grant schemes. Included in this are 225 applications in the mid western region where this group is based.
As the Deputy will appreciate it will take time to process all these applications. My Department will contact the group as soon as a decision has been made regarding their application.
