66 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands whether she supports the proposal for a new building for the West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen, County Cork; and whether she will ensure that maximum assistance is made available to the project to enable it to be completed as soon as possible. An application was made under phase II of the cultural development incentives scheme in respect of the West Cork Arts Centre project in Skibbereen. The promoters of the project were informed on 25 June 1997 that this application had been unsuccessful. All funding which had been available under the scheme has now been fully allocated and accordingly I am not in a position to provide funding for the project.
