Ceist:

216 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will grant an extension of time to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in respect of his dairy hygiene grant in view of the fact that he was unable to complete the work by 31 March 1998 as a result of inclement weather and difficulty in getting tradesmen. An extension of the time limit laid down in the approval to grant aid work carried out under the dairy hygiene scheme cannot be granted in this case as no request for such an extension was made by the applicant prior to 31 March 1998. In the absence of such a request the application was formally cancelled on 23 April 1998.
