246 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of claims for personal injuries made against her Department between 1990 and 1997; the number of these claims in respect of which compensation was paid; and the total amount paid for each of these years. The attached table gives details of claims for personal injuries since my Department was established in 1993. The details include information on the heritage service for which my Department assumed responsibility in March 1996.
