390 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the number and type of educational referrals in the Waterford area, for psychological assessment during the 1997 to 1998 school year, to the Brothers of Charity Services based at Lisduggan Lodge, Waterford and to the community care psychological service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As responsibility for the provision of routine educational psychological assessments for school children is a matter in the first instance for the Department of Education and Science, the Brothers of Charity Services, Lisduggan Lodge, Waterford did not take referrals for educational psychological assessments during the period outlined by the Deputy.
In relation to the Waterford Community Care Psychological Service, I have been informed by the South-Eastern Health Board that there were no educational referrals to that service.
