Vol. 495 No. 7

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Services.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

400 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if arrangements will be made for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to be called for a reassessment for speech therapy purposes in view of the fact the person is a slow learner and is one of a class of thirty, which is hindering his learning progress. [21109/98]

The making of arrangements for the provision of speech and language therapy services in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board with a request that she examine this case as a matter of urgency and reply directly to the Deputy.
