A proposal to introduce a system of funding for Ireland's emerging golfers linked to the international carding scheme is under consideration in my Department, in consultation with the Irish Sports Council and the relevant golfing unions, with a view to providing a more targeted and better co-ordinated support structure for our most talented young golfers. I hope to be in a position to announce details of the new system in due course.
