108 Mr. Deenihan asked the Taoiseach the level of imports of beef and lamb in processed and unprocessed form from both the EU and other countries; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21201/98]

The latest month for which information is available is June 1998. The table gives the imports of beef and lamb for the year 1997 and the period January-June 1998. It is not practicable to distinguish between meat in processed and unprocessed form.

110 Mr. Deenihan asked the Taoiseach the amount of French cow and beef being imported; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21496/98]

The latest period for which information is available is June 1998. The quantity of beef imported into Ireland from France was 358 tonnes in 1997 and 264 tonnes for the period January-June 1998. The corresponding values were £837,000 in 1997 and £532,000 for the period January-June 1998.
