Ceist:

82 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1997 REP scheme payment and suckler and cow premia will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [23306/98]

An application was made by the person named under the 1997 suckler cow premium scheme on 30 May 1997. Ten of the animals on the claim were not properly tagged which meant that the animals in question were not eligible for premium. Payment of £3,926.44 in respect of the other 28 animals on the claim has issued. In 1998, 11 animals on the suckler cow premium claim had identification errors which resulted in them being deleted without penalty from the claim. An advance payment of £3,814.25 has issued to the person named on 27 October 1998 due to an error in processing he is due an additional grant. The shortfall due will be paid to him within the next two weeks. The applicant's third year REPS payment has been processed and a cheque will issue within the next few days.
