Vol. 496 No. 7

Written Answers. - Agricultural Schemes.

Louis J. Belton

Ceist:

126 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason all of County Longford was not included under the fodder scheme; and the criteria used by his Department. [24099/98]

The fodder scheme is directed at all sheep farmers with mountain grazing and suckler cow producers, and small dairy farmers (with milk quotas of less than 35,000 gallons) in district electoral divisions in the worst affected areas. These areas were identified in a Teagasc survey completed in September and the same general procedures for selecting them were applied in all counties.
