Vol. 497 No. 5

Written Answers - Leader Programmes.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

154 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of projects received by his Department from a company (details supplied); the number approved to date; the amount of money paid to date to approved applications; the amount of money paid separately to the group for running the programme; and the reason information requested was not supplied to Deputy Ring as indicated in Parliamentary Question No. 211 of 3 November 1998. [25522/98]

Information on the amount of money paid separately to the local action group for running the Leader II programme was provided to the Deputy in my reply of 3 November 1998.

As indicated previously, approved local action groups have the responsibility for decision making in relation to grant approvals in their areas and for processing claims for payment. I understand that the information requested on applications received and approved by them has now been provided to the Deputy.
