Vol. 497 No. 5

Written Answers - Departmental Offices.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

168 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the position regarding proposals, if any, to reorganise the district veterinary offices in County Cork; and the position in relation to proposals to relocate the district veterinary office from Cork city to Mallow. [25727/98]

The Deputy will be aware that, in order to serve the needs of farmers in the southern and western parts of County Cork, a new office providing all the local services of my Department will be established in Clonakilty.

I am giving further consideration to the question whether any additional measures are required in order that the Department's office in Cork city can provide a more effective service to the remainder of the farming community in County Cork.
