Vol. 498 No. 2

Written Answers. - Conservation Works.

John Bruton

Ceist:

228 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will give the necessary approval required to the Dowth graveyard committee (details supplied) in County Meath in order that it can proceed with restoration work to the graveyard; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26862/98]

Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department, has no objection to the work referred to by the Deputy being continued subject to an architectural survey and details of the proposed conservation work being submitted for approval by Dúchas and provided that any restoration works undertaken by the committee are supervised by an approved archaeologist.
