Vol. 498 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

129 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid for his mountain ewes for each of the years from 1995 to date. [28076/98]

The position in this case was outlined in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 187 on 24 November 1998. The person named did not claim headage on any mountain ewes under the 1995 scheme. Under the 1996 scheme his payment for mountain ewes was limited to 18 sheep based on his mountain acreage as shown on area aid records. Under the 1997 and 1998 schemes according to this area aid records he did not have any mountain grazings and as a result he was deemed ineligible for payment on his mountain breeding ewes.
