I am hopeful that the vast majority of those eligible for aid will have received payment before the end of the year. The payments will be made automatically by reference to the 1998 sheep headage and suckler cow application forms. In relation to the aid payable to small scale milk producers, all of the information necessary is being submitted by their milk purchasers. The relevant aid will be calculated and paid to the milk purchasers as soon as possible for passing on to eligible milk producers.
