164 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 245 of 2 December 1998, it is intended to respond positively to the request of the parent to have her child moved to another class in order to alleviate the bullying problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is awaiting a response from the board of management in this matter. In a situation where complaints of this nature are referred to a board of management, the board must be given an adequate opportunity to respond to the matters raised. However, my officials have been in contact with the school and a reminder letter has recently issued to the board asking for a report as soon as possible.
