Ceist:373 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when directors will be appointed to the Western Development commission; and when the commission's funding will be finalised. [1616/99]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 321 and 373 together.
The members of the Western Development Commission, whose names were announced on 20 January, will be appointed early next month when the commission is established, by order, on a statutory basis.
The general provisions governing the western investment fund are set out in section 20 of the Western Development Commission Act, 1998. The detailed arrangements relating to the management of the fund are being finalised by my Department.
