121 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government whether, in the light of the housing crisis with particular reference to first time home seekers, he has made contact with the local authorities since the beginning of 1999 with a view to urgent provision of local authority private sites to suitably qualified applicants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Local authorities have recently been urged in my Department's Circular N 1/99 of 15 January 1999 to renew their efforts in promoting the provision of low cost housing sites.
