Vol. 499 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

79 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when premiums will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath in view of the fact they are long over-due; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2285/99]

A problem exists on a land parcel on the 1998 area aid application for the person named. The applicant has been contacted and is forwarding a map of the land parcel to resolve the matter.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

80 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will ensure that beef subsidy and area aid are paid to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2286/99]

The person concerned applied for one animal on a ten month special beef premium application on the 25 February 1998. The herdowner received £72.13, which is 80 per cent of the total amount payable. The balance of full entitlement has yet to be determined as it depends on the usage of Ireland's quota for 1998. It is expected that the herdowner will receive the balancing payment on his ten month special beef premium application in early April. Payment of his extensification premium is expected to issue in early May.

Gerry Reynolds

Ceist:

81 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will receive 1998 headage payments. [2295/99]

The person named did not submit sufficient maps with his 1998 area aid application form. My Department issued further maps in order to resolve this matter. The returned maps have now been digitised and any payments due will be issued as soon as possible.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

82 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 cattle headage and a suckler cow premium. [2332/99]

There was an overclaim associated with this application which has been resolved. The area aid application for the person named has now been finalised and any outstanding payments due will be issued as soon as possible.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

83 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a 1998 suckler cow premium in view of the fact he submitted proof of his milk quota to the area aid unit in November 1998. [2333/99]

Application was made by the person named under the suckler cow premium scheme in respect of two animals on 27 May 1998.

A milk quota of 10,405 gallons has recently been recorded by the area aid unit for the person named and payment under the suckler cow premium scheme 1998 should shortly be issued.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

84 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the plans, if any, he has to commence paying out the second instalment of the suckler cow premium earlier in view of the current fodder crisis. [2334/99]

I expect that payment of the second instalment of the 1998 suckler cow premium will commence early in February.

John Ellis

Ceist:

85 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if headage and suckler payments due to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be paid. [2359/99]

A query arose in relation to a parcel of land which is being claimed by another herdowner. Maps were issued to the herdowners concerned, but the query has not yet been resolved. Outstanding payments due cannot be issued until the area aid application is finalised.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

88 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a REP scheme payment has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [2362/99]

The original agri-environmental plan submitted in this case was found to be deficient. A revised plan has now been submitted and has been accepted. Payment will issue on the next payment run.
