117 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number and nature of bodies, agencies or groups having statutory responsibility to his Department but in respect of which he or his Department are not accountable to the Houses of the Oireachtas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The semi-State bodies which operate under the aegis of my Department are set out in the following schedule. In general, the discharge of their functions is a matter for the bodies concerned, and my Department is not responsible, for example, for their decisions in respect of individual schemes, projects or cases.
