The question of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of St. Vincent's Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of the voluntary hospital concerned. I have asked the chief executive of the hospital concerned to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
237 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children further to Parliamentary Question No. 92 of 17 June 1998 the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny was not called for appointment in December 1998 as stated; if his Department will investigate the case and insist on an early appointment; and the reason this person was recently given an appointment for June 1999. The provision of hospital services to eligible persons in County Kilkenny in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board.
