Vol. 500 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

121 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive compensation under the fodder aid losses scheme. [4613/99]

The person named is one of a small number of sheep headage applicants who were not paid a fodder supplement by 31 December 1998 because of difficulties in determining the overall amount of mountain grazing available to them. These cases are currently under examination with a view to making any fodder payments due as soon as possible.

Ceist:

123 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the remainder of 1998 headage and premia. [4616/99]

Payment of the balance of the 1998 sheep headage will be made to the person named shortly. The final instalment of the 1998 ewe premium will be paid within a week of the EU regulation authorising payment being published. It is expected that this regulation will be published next weekend. The person named has already received his full entitlement under the 1998 suckler cow, 1998 cattle headage and 1998 beef premium schemes.

Ceist:

124 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a REP scheme payment in view of the fact that his holding is farming as a separate unit from any other holding and should be treated as such by his Department. [4617/99]

This application was considered in conjunction with an application from another family member. My Department is of the opinion that the two parcels of land in question are in effect one unit and accordingly, only one application should be submitted in respect of all the lands. The applicant has been informed of the position.
