Vol. 500 No. 7

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

410 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be investigated in view of the fact he has not attended school since summer 1998; the reason a place has not been found for him; and if this case will be expedited. [5179/99]

I am pleased to advise the Deputy that the child in question should be able to attend a suitable school in the very near future.

My Department recently sanctioned additional staffing for the school concerned to enable the school authorities cater for the special educational needs of the child in question.
