Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

237 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo can receive the payment on his remaining 30 hoggets [5540/99]

Following a review of this case it has been decided to accept the 30 extra hoggets bringing the total amount due to the person named under the 1998 sheep headage scheme to £1,821. £1,530 has already been paid and the balance of £291 will be paid shortly.

Ceist:

238 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the names, addresses and amounts paid to all applicants in County Mayo under the weather related crop losses scheme. [5542/99]

In accordance with long-standing practice in Departments it is not the custom to provide detailed information of the nature requested. I can however indicate that under the scheme of assistance for weather related crop losses (1997) applicants from County Mayo received a total of £31,349.07.

Ceist:

239 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 sheep headage and fodder scheme payments in view of the fact all his maps were resubmitted to the area aid unit some time ago. [5543/99]

There was a problem with a parcel of land on the area aid application of the person concerned. These difficulties have been resolved. Sheep headage payments will issue as soon as possible. My Department is currently finalising arrangements for the distribution of aid under the 1999 winter fodder scheme. The person named will be considered for assistance under the new measure.

Ceist:

240 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received 1998 cattle headage and premia payments. [5544/99]

In order to be considered for payment of headage grants herdowners must submit a valid area aid application for the relevant year. The person named did not submit an area aid application in 1998 and consequently payments cannot issue in respect of her 1998 cattle headage application.

Without a valid area aid application, premium payments can issue on up to 15 livestock units equivalent. On foot of this provision, payment in respect of a special beef premium application issued on 15 December 1998.

Ceist:

241 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the money outstanding to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo based on his 1998 area aid application; and when this money will issue. [5545/99]

Michael Ring

Ceist:

242 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount of land on which a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is entitled to claim, including each parcel of land and the total forage area for this holding; and if the matter will be dealt to avoid any delays in the processing of his 1999 area aid application and in view of the fact he has written twice to the area aid section requesting this information. [5546/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 241 and 242 together.

The 1998 area aid application for the person named has been finalised. In accordance with the maps submitted in 1998, the area digitised in respect of each land parcel is set out below. Claims must be based on these digitised areas subject to appropriate deductions in respect of buildings, ponds, etc.
