Ceist:

156 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the remainder of 1998 cattle headage, sheep headage, top-up and ewe premium in view of the fact his maps were re-submitted to the area aid unit over a month ago. [6634/99]

I have made arrangements for officials of my Department to contact the person concerned with a view to completing the processing of his 1998 area aid application.

158 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in respect of the fodder losses scheme. [6645/99]

Ceist:

159 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received any payments in respect of suckler cow; and when payment will issue to him. [6646/99]

A query arose in relation to a parcel of land that is being claimed by another herdowner. Maps issued to the herdowners concerned with the aim of having the matter clarified. Replies have been received from the herdowners, but have failed to resolve the matter. An inspection is being carried out to establish the correct claimant of the parcel in question. Payments cannot issue until the area aid difficulties are resolved.

Ceist:

160 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in respect of sheep headage. [6647/99]

There was a problem on the area aid application of the person named because the parcel claimed by this person was also being claimed by another herdowner. Maps issued to the herdowners concerned and the area aid application for the person named was finalised. The person named confirmed that he was not entitled to claim the parcel concerned. The appropriate penalties were applied with the result that he has no eligible area and consequently payment in respect of his 1998 sheep headage application cannot issue.

Further maps have now issued to afford the person named a final opportunity to ensure that the area digitised by my Department accurately reflects the area claimed.

Ceist:

161 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the second instalment of a fodder losses compensation will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [6649/99]

The person named received his full entitlement of £296 under the 1998 winter fodder package and will qualify for a top-up of 50 per cent under the 1999 scheme. My Department is presently finalising arrangements for this scheme.
