242 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of money spent on sewerage schemes since 1 January 1989 in County Kerry and west Cork county health district; and the schemes and the amount spent on each of the schemes. [8984/99]
Expenditure on individual major public sewerage schemes in Kerry and west Cork from 1 January 1994 to 29 March 1999, and a list of schemes approved under the small schemes programme between 1994 and 1996, is set out in the following tables. The responsibility for the prioritisation and approval of schemes under the small schemes programme was devolved to county councils in 1997. Details of expenditure on individual sewerage schemes in Kerry and west Cork prior to 1994 is not readily available and their compilation would involve a disproportionate amount of time and work.
The 1997 and 1998 water and sewerage services investment programme annual reports set out the overall capital expenditure on major, small and group water and sewerage schemes, broken down by local authority, for the years 1989 to 1997. Copies of both of these reports are available in the Oireachtas Library.
