Vol. 503 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

233 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a plot of land at Fortland, Easkey, County Sligo will be included in the area aid application of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo to enable headage and premia payments to issue. [9900/99]

The herdowner concerned furnished an incomplete application in that he had quoted an incorrect parcel number. Following contact with the herdowner concerned in connection with this matter a map has recently been received in the area aid unit. This map has been fully processed and there are now no outstanding errors on the application. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

234 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not had any reply from his Department concerning an application for compensation for scrapie; and when the matter will be resolved. [9911/99]

My Department is currently finalising details of the basis of payments in this case, or indeed other similar cases. Once that has been settled the relevant forms will be completed and will be sent to the person in question, thereby enabling her to pursue her case. My Department has advised the person in question to this effect.
