Vol. 503 No. 3

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Finucane – the provision of extra classrooms and other facilities at the national fisheries training centre at Greencastle, County Donegal; (2) Deputy Keaveney – the announcement of the closure of the Fingal factory, Moville, County Donegal, and the urgent need for job creation measures to be implemented in the Inishowen area; (3) Deputy Ring – the delay in publishing the report dealing with ageing and old people and the proposals of the Minister for Health and Children to act on the report's findings; (4) Deputy Deasy – the need for the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources to carry out a full review of all the convictions of driftnet salmon fishermen which involved the two fishery inspectors dismissed by the Southern Regional Fisheries Board; (5) Deputy Rabbitte – the need to find a solution to the industrial dispute involving scaffolders which is now causing serious disruption to the construction industry; (6) Deputy Deenihan – to intervene in the sale of bog at Muingnaminnane, County Kerry, by Coillte, to Kerry County Council, for a proposed new landfill site, as it excludes 35 families from turf-cutting on this bog.

The matters raised by Deputies Keaveney, Finucane and Ring have been selected for discussion.
