582 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will examine, as a matter of urgency an application for funding by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if officials of his Department will visit the centre to assess the positive impact of the initiative on the local community, which is severely disadvantaged; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am aware of the case made by the project in question in support of its application for funding from my Department.

The application is currently being examined in my Department. The question of a visit to the centre by officials of my Department will be considered as part of this process. My Department will be in contact with the project shortly in relation to its application.
