63 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Finance the reason the Office of Public Works will not maintain a drain at Lisheenaheilta, Glenamaddy, County Galway, for a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11869/99]

The channel in question is part of the Corrib-Clare catchment drainage scheme and was last maintained in February 1998. Routine maintenance is currently being carried out on this channel again this year.
