176 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has used section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, which allows for appropriate action to be taken on cross-departmental issues in a structured way; and the areas of work of his Department which are touching on the work of other Departments in respect of which cross-departmental arrangements might be appropriate. No orders have so far been made under section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, in so far as my Department is concerned.
My Department has, of course, important linkages and interactions with a range of other Government Departments and Offices on an ongoing basis which operate very effectively.
The need to utilise section 12 of the Act in the future will continue to be kept under review, in consultation with appropriate Ministers and Departments.
