190 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if the necessary approval will be granted to persons (details supplied) in County Sligo in view of the fact that that application has been signed since 11 May 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18377/99]
The application for grant-aid for afforestation to which the Deputy refers was received in my Department in mid-June 1999 and is currently being processed. The forestry inspector for the area inspected the site and has submitted his report. The report indicates that there are a number of environmental considerations involved and it will therefore be necessary to consult the competent bodies. I have asked that processing of the application be expedited.
