Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

John Bruton

Ceist:

809 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress of his Department's inspectorate's investigation of the special care needs of pupils attending Boyerstown national school, County Meath; and if additional resources will be provided to the school in view of the result of the investigation. [17354/99]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that St. Joseph's national school, Boyerstown, County Meath has been allocated 20 hours per week special needs assistant support to cater for the special needs of a pupil in the school.

In addition, the school has been allocated 2.5 hours per week resource teaching support for another special needs pupil. A letter of sanction has issued to the school authorities informing them of these allocations.
